About Us

Shepherd's Gate Farm is owned and run by Terri Wilp and Brydon Christensen.

Terri is a Nurse Practioner who works in a family practice clinic in the Lexington area. She has trained many wonderful pet dogs, as well as dogs who have gone onto compete in agility, obedience, and schutzhund. She also works at a free health clinic in Richmond and is completing the training of her three female German Shepherds and her new Border Collie.

Brydon has been training dogs since she and her family Labrador got involved in the local 4-H Dog Program. Her love, though, is training dogs for competition. She currently is training her two male Belgian Tervurens in schutzhund, agility, and competitive obedience. She also has an older Belgian Tervuren that has finished his Championship in Conformation as well as earned various agility and obedience titles.

Brydon and Terri have 20+ years of versatile training experiences between the two of them and many methods to learn from. They have taken dog owners who just wanted a puppy with manners to training dog and owner to compete and be successful in various dog sports.

Both Brydon and Terri continue their education as well, doing clinics with well known behaviorists and trainers each year. They believe that happy dogs and owners are constantly learning and trying new endeavors. Recently one of Brydon's dogs, Gator, got into dock diving and went all the way to qualify and compete in the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge and the Dock Dogs World Championships. Dock diving just started out as a way to give Gator some exercise without having to focus on training and turned into something he is FANTASTIC at!
